Redesigning online banking. For everyone.

UniCredit • 2014 • Synthesis, Strategy, Design, Prototype

Research and design of a UX Strategy for the next 5 years including mobile and web touchpoints for the near-future.

During my time at Experientia, UniCredit was looking for support with developing its digital strategy for the near–, mid–, and long–term future. After extensive contextual research & synthesis, we designed a roadmap describing the brand’s future UX as well as digital touchpoints matching the roadmap’s first phase.

Strategic guidance into the future

I joined the project during synthesis after extensive research had already been conducted. Based on the findings and insights, we worked out opportunities, persona and scenarios that illustrated a combination of possible future features as a response to current needs.

Additionally, we mapped the opportunities against their feasibility from a technical and business point of view and created a UX Roadmap. This helped to guide the client’s financial investment and support the strategy to develop user-friendly features, concepts and services.

Designing the future of mobile banking (for everyone)

To demonstrate a possible future outlined in the roadmap we designed a new banking app that combined the research insights with contemporary and future FinTech trends. The research had evidenced several distinct financial behaviors which presented an interesting challenge as we wanted to create one app for all.

Accompanied by rapid prototyping and testing we designed an app that proved very versatile due to a home screen dashboard. Being presented with contextual and interactive information allowed users to be in better control of their finances. From the very first page onwards, the user can get an overview but also manage their finances straight away.
